Join us and the British Friends of Israel on the #mensch contingent on Sunday
Immediately after October 7th, while the Islamist-left alliance were celebrating the Hamas pogroms, an important petition was set up as a way to establish solidarity with the people of Israel. A small number of non-Jews had created British Friends of Israel (BFOI) which then launched the petition in the form of The October Declaration. It quickly gathered tens of thousands of signatures, including hundreds of notable and famous names.
The declaration was significant during those early post-October 7th months, because it both provided a touchstone of clarity — unequivocally condemning Hamas and its pogroms, and opposing anti-Semitism — and gave people an outlet through which to show their empathy and concern.

We are pleased to announce that BFOI representatives and supporters will be joining the #mensch contingent at the rally against anti-Semitism on Sunday.
Our joint intention is to make the presence of non-Jews as visible as possible at the rally. Although there is much to be done to face anti-Semitism head on — in education, in politics, in law, in the health service — we feel that the most important thing those of us who are not Jewish can do today is to make our support visible. We may not be able to stop the bigotry overnight, but we can make clear that it does not represent the majority view — and that most good people in Britain would stand openly and without hesitation beside their Jewish neighbours, friends and colleagues.
If you'd like to be part of making this statement, then head to the bollards in front of the Downing Street gates, for 12pm onwards, on Sunday, May 10th. (The rally starts at 1pm.) We'll have leaflets and bright new placards, and there will be plenty of opportunity to meet others, pose for selfies and be part of numerous group photos.
Come and be visible, too!
